Found this 1965 Canadian dime in the coin star reject tray a minute ago. 80% silver for a melt value of 2,169 sats šš man I love finding treasures in the wild.

RIP when fiat had to be backed by something. The clanging of those coins has a quintessential old timey sound to it
Yes, I love that sound. I have a bag of old silver Iāve scrounged up that I bust out every once in a while to hear that sound.
Had to grab the silver bag for the new edition so figured Iād send a pic. Mostly foreign silver coinage I got from my grandparents. Scrounged a few coins myself here and there too.
All at least 50% silver, most of it >75%. All of it is actually worth more than spot minus a couple coins. Very cool sound when I dump the bag out.
Ahhh you have some walking liberty half dollars, they make the ultimate clang. I too have some old US coinage as an absolute worst case scenario reserve. Sortve wild people were using that silver as currency during WW2. The design on some of them is very reminiscent of that time period in US history
Silver coinage is a good thing to have a bit of on hand like you said for emergencies and itās just cool as fuck. Iāve got a couple gold coins, some food stores and dialed in guns too. Donāt ever want to get caught slipping. Peace of mind alone is well worth it.
100%.
Do they perform like bitcoin? No. That isnāt the point. I donāt own them to make money. I own them because Iād rather have all of my bases covered in a worst case scenario event thanā¦not. Similarly to a gun you may not need it till ya need it.
Theyāre also cool as fuck
I always say, Iād rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. š«”
