So 2+ yrs ago at #nostrica I demoed an experimental branch of nostr:nprofile1qyx8wumn8ghj7cnjvghxjmcpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqqg8je9kf0ajpnffclpx087njugv5vp0psjqfdeh9zuxvukmk0xw5qqpfw6hy that integrated a bunch of fun nostr functionality. That branch was NEVER intended to make it into a real release.

I'm finally revisiting that work now, but this time with the goal of getting some limited functionality into an actual release!
JUST focusing on leveraging SeedSigner's bring-your-own-entropy seed creation for generating a new nostr nsec/npub. #nip06
The flow would then end with displaying the nostr key as a QR code to be read into something like nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqtxwaehxw309anxjmr5v4ezumn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tmwwp6kyvtnxpm8g6m8v44rxvmwxajkxdryxaukx7rdwa6rwwr4wquxsurxvyenqeps09nxkumjwd58zdm58qex6cmgw9ukuur3xe4r7cnjdaskgcmpwd6r6arjw4jsqgxh8zhhgak5thjs8ccn8tqddjgfumd3sjkkfq4kwhx9sqmmydnajsvfmrpz.

I think this key management issue for Nostr is still a problem that would be great if it can be fixed. I realize that with other platforms someone could compromise your identity by getting your password, as often happens due to hacking, but then you have the option to just create a new password, and you can continue to use your account/profile. Unfortunately we don't have that right now in Nostr.
I wonder if it would be possible that when someone creates a new Nostr npub that they are given say 10 private keys/nsecs only one of which will work at a time? 🤔 The others would be reserved in case they are ever needed due to an nsec being compromised.
Just tossing out an idea. Don't tell me why it can't work, tell me how it can be made to work 😄

Sorry, I can think of a lot of reasons why that won't work, but none for how it could.
I think solutions like FROSTr will be our best bet for key management on Nostr.
