I think when it comes to file storage, there won't be 1 player. There will be incentive in different formats. Some reward users with the token for allowing your hard drive to support the network.

I don't have much faith in projects with a token. Usually they are started by a company, they hold a large amount of the tokens, the company dumps the tokens and dissappears then when the tokens crash to near zero there is no incentives for the ones storing the data to get useless tokens. Bittorrent is battle tested for years, if you add nostr users demand and sats as a payment it might grow.
Bittorrent created a token actually. That you can earn by securing there network.
