May I share a slightly different perspective?

What I find stupid is that people allow the state to control all aspects of their lives.

However, at least in the USA where juries are comprised of a dozen "peers" of the person on trial, far fewer innocent people would be jailed IF ONLY at least one of those twelve jurors understood "jury nullification." (Look it up.)

Despite what lying judges and court officials will tell you, ONE juror who believes a law or its application to be unjust can refuse to vote "guilty," and so preserve a defendant's freedom.🙏😁💜🫂😆

Wow. I was going to bring up this exact point. The Quash podcast does a good job of explaining it sometimes as well.
