I was reading in a book, that humans domesticated themselves, and that mostly the nice humans got babies. Survival of the friendliest. Homo puppy instead of Homo sapiens. Friendly and so cute faces were important for our survival.

That sort of makes sense.
The kinder humans were probably less-inclined to kill their offspring, and cared more about their needs.

Also interesting that men prize facial masculinity in other men higher than women do. Women like men who look kind-but-manly, but men are all about the gigachad, ultra-ripped, scary-looking guys.
