this is the right thing to do. Really nails in the difference between using sats vs a twitcoin. Would love to see this in local currency rather than USD.

Should default brightly for bitcoin noobs and maxi’s can flip a switch to turn it off.

The custom amount should allow reverse conversion, as in you put in a local amount and it gives you the sat amount, I bet zaps would get bigger.

Unfortunately the conversion is only available for USD and crypto 🤮 on the free API I'm using. I would like to show the price in at least all of the major currencies if the user opts to see it that way. I agree though that if people could put a value in from their own currency that would be good. Until the Bitcoin Standard happens, people still think in their own currencies and it's easier for them to make a decision about sending funds based on that imo. I'm with the maxis on the ultimate goal, but we have to orange pill all the normies first.

the only way forward is developing, you can influence people to the watering hole, but you can only scare them away with influence once they are there. it’s not promising that they bark at any ramp built for people to join them, and devs need to virtue to the mob to keep them subdued. They need to be told to sit down, they are hurting the cause they claim to support.
