John the baptist knew he could not die untill his purpose was fulfilled.

And so he said what ever he wanted, knowing he was immortal until God's purpose was fulfilled.

However; once his purpose was fulfilled he was beheaded.

So be nice. Do God's will but be nice while doing it.
