I always just expected Japan to eventually dominate the EV space.

They are/were world leaders in all the core technologies from batteries to injection plastics to robotics to automation.

Bit baffling why the Japanese manufacturers haven’t eaten Tesla’s lunch already.

Also… Japan isn’t exactly awash with oil and gas so no shortage of incentive to electrify automotive transport.

I don’t really get it.

Bigger means and motive than anyone.
