Interesting, does anyone know why this happens? Is it a bug or are they just clearing storage and recycling URIs? Doesn't make any sense.

Thanks for the question, this was a bug introduced when we started filtering out csam content for legal reasons. This has since been fixed, but please let me know if you run into this again.

It was caused by their media URLs being 4-letter IDs (16 million max limit) and therefore vulnerable to duplication

I think they also have media IDs generated sequentially and that counter may have gotten out of sync a few times

Only 4 letters... What could go wrong
