Children are raised by culture.

If you can engineer a strong culture at home that your kids admire and respect, then they'll be apt to mimick it even when it means standing alone in respect to popular culture.

If you fail to do so, then your children will be raised by the culture *outside* of your home (with all of it's insidious games therein).
