Many, many bitcoiners still to this day say “you can’t be progressive and be a bitcoiner.”

Honestly, I can agree in part while also mainly disagreeing.

Many progressives that learn about bitcoin adjust their worldview and solutions a bit. But the value set doesn’t change, just the means to get to the end.

I, and many progressives, find out how deficit spending, MMT, and ineffective climate protests with no solutions won’t bring about the change we want and often make things worse.

Bitcoin is an incredible tool that progressives will find is incredibly powerful for marginalized communities that have been discriminated against by Wall Street and the big banks, working class folks with no solution to financial sustainability in retirement, as a solution to profitable expansion or renewables and cleaning up otherwise wasted and flared gas, human rights use cases around the world, money for protestors and activists and beyond.

Bitcoin is changing hearts and minds for progressives that are open to it, and who have come to the realization that politicians and our government is not here to save us. But, we can reign in their power and influence, while the game theory plays out and some of these progressive politicians pivot to the will of the people.

I will do my damndest to help progressives see the hope and potential in Bitcoin, because it’s not enough for just Donald Trump and Republican bitcoiners to praise the technology. That would be a shame if it continues to grow more partisan.

Progressives should rethink how they’re living their life if they give even the tiniest shit about groupthink bitcoin culture affinity scam dupes going around trying to police who gets to call themselves a “bitcoiner” lmao

Like every single person will be a bitcoiner in 10 years or less, this isn’t even an issue.

Also fuck trump, I wouldn’t vote for him if he promised to put the US on a bitcoin standard. 1) he’s a fucking liar and 2) it’s going to happen with or without him, and I’d rather it happen without the massive destruction he’ll bring alongside

I’d agree. And yeah it can be quite silly and frustrating for someone to not be into bitcoin because someone they don’t like says they like it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Who cares! But that’s a real thing

I mean is it? Who is actually complaining about this?

I know many of my friends that see Ted Cruze or Trump talk about bitcoin, or get the sense it’s more right wing (without knowing about bitcoin) and they’re like yeah not thinks. They’re open to other crypto projects that have a more “left wing” vibe.

I agree it’s silly

I put the blame squarely on Elizabeth Warren here, she likely cost democrats the presidential election because of her branding efforts, too
