I’m starting to think the real divide isn’t Left vs. Right—it’s between those who support institution-controlled democracy and those who believe in democracy by the people.
Defending institutions that have repeatedly destroyed public trust just doesn’t make sense.
How does democracy by the people works?
I wonder if it’s a matter of scale. Are we too big to have effective self government? Have we scaled to the point where the institutions are disconnected from the individuals?
I was just watching the outrage of some far left politicians calling for war against what Elon Musk is doing and it had me a little baffled.
Im all for ensuring no one oligarch takes over the government but if that oligarch is only revealing where massive amounts of money is being spent and stopping it, where's the problem?
Sure there are likely better places to cut costs like in the military but at least there some cuts coming. ✂️
