I only code when in the zone. And it lasts a week or two and I’m done.

Well, my hobby and my profession are both coding jobs, so I don't really get to choose when to code. I code every day, all year. Can't even remember the last day that I didn't code something.

same here, been working on code pretty much every day now for about 4 years, and with some small breaks while i was an exile from serbia, another 3 years before that

I could never earn a living writing code.

I take that back; I could make a fortune writing code for medical applications but that’s a corrupt market filled with complete morons and it would be more like stealing than earning money.

I could never make an honest living writing code. Not at my pace.

I do a lot of digital infrastructure projects, so I'm checking E-Mails on weekends and vacations. It's a bit like being on-call.

Haven’t done it in about a decade. Last time I wrote an offline bitcoin watch only wallet for iOS. Before that, I designed an extensible markup language for medical data to automate my daily tasks as an intern. Then I got too busy saving lives to change the world.
