Yesterday I learned that Sweden has a national Psychological Defence Agency, (literally). Basically, a Ministry of Truth and Propaganda in the business exactly inverse to the one their pompous title pretends to tout, namely, to wage psychological war against its own citizenry.

This aberration is the alleged inspiration for the upcoming federal Euro-Ministry of Truth, as declared by Reichskanzlerin Ursula v. d. Leyen during a campaign event (apparently there's an election going on).

If I wasn't versed in history, and didn't know how it was "model countries" depicted as the most socially advanced like Sweden who pioneered shit like State-sponsored sterilization campaigns before 1920-style eugenics fell out of fashion, I would be surprised.

“The Psychological Defence Agency shall identify, analyse and provide support in countering malign information influence and other misleading information that is directed at Sweden or Swedish interests by antagonistic foreign powers. This can concern disinformation aimed at weakening Sweden’s resilience and the willingness of the population to defend itself, or unduly influencing people’s perceptions, behaviours and decision-making.”
