If you trace the lines of old maps, you’ll find clear evidence of mapped lands that seem to vanish…phantom islands, charted by explorers, only to disappear as if swallowed by the sea itself.

Hy-Brasil is one of the most famous, said to emerge off the coast of Ireland just once every seven years. A place shrouded in mist, visible only to those meant to see it.

But it isn’t the only one. The further back you look, the more of these spectral lands you’ll find, each carrying its own legends, sightings, and mysteries.

Were these merely cartographer’s errors… or traces of something we’ve long forgotten?

Bring Back Old Maps. Trace the tales of time… and uncover truth long forgotten. 🧭 #map #legends #travel #nostr #puravida

I love the smiling face in the first map, too. These cartographers were artists.

Yes! They really were. It’s just so fascinating… in today’s world information is deleted.. changed.. etc…

With old maps it’s all perception. Apply a lens of the unique culture of the one who made the map, and you start to align to their perception of reality and truth. It’s exciting.
