This week I met with a sales engineer about a design concept I’ve been working with their firm over the past 6 months.

After several iterations to reduce cost, I was still unable to justify the cost to my management team.

However, he shared they were able to take the design concept and use it in other industry applications and are currently building parts for those customers.

He thanked me and gave me some credit for helping them develop the product.

This is the first time in my career receiving feedback how I indirectly provided value. Knowing that alone is priceless.
