oh!! I didn't know that one could use eggs.

I always wondered with the alum salts how one would dispose of them (safely), so I assumed brains were the only alternative.

I know that it takes time and work, but do you feel like you have a streamlined process?

Lots of different methods for different types of tanning/preserving. I want to try bark/veg tanning. Check out buckskin revolution on YouTube and her website. Alum tanning is more for fur skins. I haven't used alum but have made sulphuric acid solution (pickling) with rabbit and mink skins.
