I did a quick range test today. Through the area I’m in with a lot of trees and houses in the way, I was able to fairly reliably get 1.5km to my RAK Wireless handheld node. I didn’t have the mast at home extended as high as it will go though as it is windy today and I haven’t secured it that well yet… With a bit of extra height I think the results will be better but it is definitely a big improvement on the 500m I was getting with the node & antenna inside the house. nostr:note1f3mtpcrjc97m60vlp4jfpu5dhv6lkym5neuqnythhrk8zzdtj7vse6klw7

In other words can I use your mobile node as a relay to another node?
Yes, it forms a mesh so it will relay via other nodes. Some of the other nodes I can reach when I’m in the CBD are 1 or 2 hops away from the nodes that I can directly connect to. I’ve been able to send messages to one that was about 25km out of the CBD that way.
