What is the best way to create a new Nostr handle?

Through a Nostr client?

Create your own node?

Through a relay?

Yes. I want to create a new npub.

Any client should be able to handle that. Not all clients support multiple "accounts," though.

Amethyst does. I just switch between the two that I have.

Yup. Amethyst is about the only one that will do that well, but you can also just create a new "account" right in amethyst. I do it for checking odds and ends, then nuke the nsec. Super easy.

Well, it allows you to sign up. If you already have an account it won't let you. At least I thats been my experience. I was trying to get a new npub on Primal and couldn't do it.

I also want to create my own Nostr address. Don't I need my own node to do that?
