almost went to a Bitcoin meetup in my city but it seems like a local honeypot to me
not sure the socializing is worth the privacy trade off

It’s worth it. Honeypots aren’t around yet imo. Never seen one before and I go to meetups. 🤷🏻♂️

I get where you’re coming from. Once you open that can of worms there’s no getting them back in.
I prefer going to Bitcoin conferences like Bit Block Boom. The signal is high and people are super respectful about privacy & such. It’s also a great way to meet people from all over.

This is a tough one. Have wrestled with it too. Suppose could always wear a guy fawkes mask, but might muffle the voice a bit much and complicate quaffing a bevy.
Also what's kept me from seeking these types of events in lieu of a conference, which I'd rather spend that type of money on
