No it isn’t. I don’t eat avocado and I planted the seed.

Can you tell me more? I’m curious to identify this tree. I lived in Southern California for 28 years and have grown several varieties of zone 8-9 trees: citrus, avocado, guava, etc. I even grew a pineapple on my patio once.
My initial guess was avocado because of the shape of the leaves. Oval with veins. This picture is an avocado seedling.
Did you buy the seed or get it from a piece of fruit. Do you remember the size and shape of the seed? Generally speaking citrus trees have smooth, almond shaped leaves.
It’s a lemon tree. Lime tree leaves are waxy shiny
Oh I hope you are right! I like them better. 😊
I buy lemons and limes from time to time for recipes, so I often have them both. I started it from the seed and never thought I would forget which it was. I also didn’t think it would grow. I’ve read most store bought seeds won’t produce fruit because they are hybrids. That’s okay because I will still have a tree. LOL
