I didn't even know that they've started putting plastic into the 501's that is how long the last bunch of 501's lasted. I'm not paying €140 for plastic jeans!

That’s expensive for Levis. Is it because they ship from North America?
I don't know. Maybe adjusted for inflation? I used to pay around 100-120 a few years ago and the price tag kinda surprised me as well. As for stretch, it's plastic no matter what they call it and I don't like plastic clothes.
