I think relays are better than "federated".
No because then you will not see many posts and everyone will be alone

Because you are connected to other relays or the relay your on is syncing or being synced to other relays
Yeah I'm on like 15 relays
See? Also, thst means your data is so backed up 15 times
If one node dies, you still are safe
