I’d like to see a feature in the future that allows a finger swipe to show a small piece of the image before opening. Long term you will understand why I said that. Sorry for my bad example but you get it. 
I should have explained that better. A finger swipe would show a small bit of the image so that you had an idea of what you are opening. Just a suggestion.
That’s not a bad idea at all.
This would be a client specific feature rather than a NIP.
It's a good default option for Global.
