Ghelasie, once a skilled physician, abandoned worldly comforts for the monastic life at Râmeț. Witnessing the closure of monasteries under communist rule, he preserved liturgical texts and traditions in secret. He faced interrogation and threats but remained steadfast, becoming a spiritual guide for many. His resilience led to the re-establishment of Râmeț Monastery after the revolution. He was later consecrated Archbishop of Alba Iulia.
Lord, may his example inspire us to hold firm to our faith in times of adversity.
