infrared blocking lenses appear black to digital camera sensors, which are highly sensitive to infrared (they have IR filters on them to reduce this, but get an IR remote and point it at your phone camera and press buttons and you'll see the white light... this will make your eyes disappear behind a black shadow

those glasses also have frames with IR reflective materials on the front face of the frame which dazzles the camera and blots out your eye area with white
