Watched They Live (1988), a satirical sci-fi action movie directed by John Carpenter. A drifter discovers sunglasses that reveal aliens controlling humanity with messages in media. He teams up with a friend to expose the aliens. It’s a critique of consumerism and control. I enjoyed it. Very entertaining. It has a slow start but picks up nicely. 7.6/10 #nodereviews

My opinion, uninfluenced by a paid for rating system 🤷🏾‍♂️

As it should be, otherwise you're being programmed by an algorithm.

That fight is the shit.

The ending wasn't perfect, but still in my list of favorites.

A good beating 😂

I didn’t care for the fight scene. Thought it dragged on. Girlfriend thought the same thing 😂

🤷‍♂️

Different people, different opinions, different reviews. Still better than IMDb or rotten 🤷🏾‍♂️

Should we tell him about The Raid

What about it?

Best hand to hand combat scenes in any movie. All long takes too.

Zizek has some interesting commentary about this film and ideology.

Do you have a link I could read?

This is from zizeks movie “a perverts guide to ideology”.
