I think the biggest flaw in Pascals argument is that the government would have to jump though hoops for subpoenas.

Yes. Governements can declare bitcoin illegal in an instant and then your money is gone. I understand there are tradeoffs to everything. But remembering what happened in Canada, I could never recommend this to anybody.
