In Venice right now and it’s spectacularly beautiful

It’s also sort of depressing

You can’t help but imagine what a bustling hub this was and what it must have been like when it was the center of the world

However today it’s essentially an oversized amusement park or museum

Feels closer to being inside Disney world than being nyc

Not saying it’s a bad thing as I myself love hearing its history which I find inspiring

but sad as “The Fighting Temeraire” is sad

Also makes me reflect on todays Venice and what we will look back on in the future of today 🤔
