A question for all the Bitcoin dads out there in this digital space…
Tonight, my 3-year-old daughter suddenly said she misses her grandma and granddad.
The thing is she only saw my mom once. And she never met my dad.
He died when I was 17.
My mom passed away last year. She was too sick to meet her granddaughter.
A few weeks ago my daughter saw a photo of my dad and asked who it was. I said, “That’s my dad. Your granddad.”
She asked “Where is he?”
I told her, “He’s no longer on this planet. He died. He’s somewhere in this universe.”
And tonight… out of a sudden.
It hit her.
And then it hit me too.
We cried together. For a full hour.
She missed the people she never got to know. And I missed the people I can never see again.
We just hugged. And cried.
I honestly don’t know how to talk about death with a 3-year-old.
I just tried to be there. To feel it all with her.
Now we’re both exhausted. Going to bed.
