Yeah love it too. I think it’s actually quite a supportive set up. No old people’s care homes etc. and the kids practically look after themselves with a few aunties keeping them in check with their shib-shibs. 😅 But not sure it’s always men. Plenty I know, including myself, who live on their own and women who live with their mums. Or perhaps I am missing the angle you’re coming from? (I often do that on here - need to hear the tone and include the context, which I so often miss here).
in america men don’t do it to support their mothers or take care of them, rather take advantage of them and not go find a life of their own.

but i agree with you, i already take care of my parents, that’s why i haven’t ever moved from st. louis. in the future they will live with me. retirement homes are awful.
