So how does video/media-hosting work on #Nostr? Do the Relays keep a copy of the files to distribute to network participants, or does it relly on external hosting? #AskNostr #Question

external hosting. relays only host text. some people try to host media inside notes but they are crazy

because storing binary data in text is a waste of disk space

and relays cap note sizes, so it only works for small files. Its better to use a protocol optimized for binary data. nostr is not it.
