Thanks Stella 🫂 i remember telegram was the go to app for drugdealing and now many people use it for talking about alternative thinking or whatever.
I was thinking about opening a chatgroup also for Nostriches and telegram has benefits like a description for example. I like the idea of simplex but it’s very simple(x) :D
Is there a good alternative? I think signal is also very simple and i don’t know about Threema!

The problem with telegram is that it's not censorship-resistant, it doesn't have end-to-end-encryption, and user accounts are tied to real phone numbers.
Someone can report the group, and it may get banned (unlikely, but possible). If you want to discuss "difficult things," it's probably not the platform to choose, imho.
0xchat (nostr based, no group description though, but soon private groups support) and Simplex (not so simple, as you may think!) are good alternatives in my opinion.
End to end encryption is a thing yes! And that it’s not censorship resistant is a big problem in general, but not for me and my topics, it’s as you say, probably rather unlikely. It would be better to support a censorship resistant chat app for all the people that get censored without a real reason!
And the phonenumber is probably the thing I am personally most worried about.
