Non devs pool their funds to incentivize a developer to implement a certain feature in a certain project.
The one I'm referring to specifically is BIP47 into BlueWallet.

Yeah saw that this morning. I'm confident they'll get it over the line. Bulk of the hard work is done (IIUC).
Friendly wager? I say they won't have sending to BIP47 payment code merged in the main repo until after conference day.
