Trying dragon fruit for the first time while mum tells me stories about when she was little and she’d sit under the mango trees with her friends. They would wait for the parrots who were eating the mangos to knock them out of the tree. Then they’d quickly run and grab them.

Everytime I think about getting mangos out of the trees I start saying, “never get out of the boat” over and over. I can’t help it. Really it happens anytime I hear the word mango.
