Why even have dedicated apps in the first place? Just have an AI device that can generate a UI on-demand to achieve whatever you are wanting to do at that moment. Instead of Home Screen icons opening apps, they are just saved prompts.

Unless the ai model runs natively on your device. If not you are always making API calls to the LLM provider which renders the ability to run offline apps impossible.

Correct. "Make me a video player and play this file".

I would, of course, have to start referring to my device as “Computer” and saying things like “make it so”

Why stop there? Make me a video thst fits this moment and play it.

literally this is the future of software. just think of every program that has absolutely useless features which are heavy on the CPU and make your device get super hot for no reason. totally retarded. what we need is a blank slate – a tabula rasa, if you will – from which the perfect, customized UI can be conceived of by the user with ease.

on a mobile phone, this could mean that the device itself only has the most basic calling/texting functions pre-installed, and from the moment you turn it on, the rest is yours to do as you wish.

apple isn't even thinking of such a thing – it is inconceivable to the corporate hive mind – and it shows.
