When you start to notice this, you see it everywhere
I used to think cheaper = better
I remember joyfully evangelizing Amazon in college, thinking how savvy I was for being able to acquire things I didn’t need in a more convenient way for less money
Now I understand that the cheaper something is, the greater the suffering required to produce it (and profit) at that price point, not to mention the extraction of wealth from communities and its concentration into fewer and fewer hands
