Elon has been under attack from the opposite side of the political spectrum even before this spat. Try Business Insider or TechCrunch and see how much love the writers have for him.

Big or small, insinuating or accusing a former friend of a myriad of potentially damaging character destruction is never a good policy no matter the grievance.

His drug induced brain just failed to reason it out sooner.

Correct. He is under attack all the time for much worse things. What made him bow down in this particular exchange?

Who knows? It could be anything. At this point he has so much to lose and has already lost so much. The burning Cyber trucks, the declining sales of Tesla, loss of revenue, BYD taking the upper hand, revoked government contracts -

His retinue of sexual flings (the latest being an unmentioned J-POP star) and his bizarre justification that he needed to spread his seed because of population decline, is the kind of reasoning from a person who believes that he is smarter than everybody else - like a warped emulation of the fictional character, Tony Stark.

At this point, the only way for Elon is to find some sort of redemption, which I do not see happening. He needs an Ebeneezer Scrooge level turn-around.

Suffice to say, he did not "stay humble"....
