In the case of Umbrel, Alby Hub depends on the external LND node to work properly. If it doesn't start or is stuck in synching, Alby Hub cannot start.
There is an Alby Hub version with an integrated lightning node that removes this risk though.
I don't have access to it right now but once I do I'll restart and it'll probably work again
