These posts are exhausting. As someone on both playforms, mastodon’s onboarding is bad and insulting people is lame. If you are not tech-inclined it’s hard, and these posts are why people don’t migrate.
Don’t even get my started about the CW police.
Mastodon is getting the reputation of becoming the HOA of social medias, I wonder why?
This is why I think this still applies:
Mastodon feels for me just like a bunch of feuds, each with it's mini dictators.
I just use Nostr. No account required, no telefone number, no mail, and you moderate what you see, no one else. And you don't see any feud, it's all the universe together.
Other advantage is that your account is cannot be deleted by anyone or any government or any server.
Other advantage is that if a server blocks you, your messages passes automatically thru many other servers Without you even having to care. So it's censorship resilient.
And nostr can read and post into Mastodon.
