Hard disagree. Run a node is not irrelevant here. Coinos just had a breach and you wave it off as irrelevant? I mean pushing Bitcoin is cool and all but pushing Self-sovereign solutions is Giga, my man.

Answer the questions people ask. Then you have room to educate on pros and cons of stuff like this. But telling someone asking how to get a lightning address to run a node or use someone else’s does absolutely nothing to help them.

I mean, okay let's work this out. Running a LN node (even an embedded node on your phone using Phoenix or Zeus) is THE step to take in getting a Lightning address. To avaoid a webserver you'd have to use custodial LSPs or a Zaplocker. Would that be good advice? Is his lack of technical detail the gripe or something else?

If you want minimal to zero lightning adoption then sure give that advice to everyone who is new to using it.

I could get a good look at a bull by sticking my head, no. You could look at the butcher's ass, wait. It's gotta be your bull.

Look what I'm trying to say is if you want freedom money, you need to take responsibility. If you want slave money (even if it's built on freedom money) you can peddle custodial apps with closed source code. When push comes to shove people who took the steps to hodl BTC can take the steps to AT LEAST load a program like nostr:nprofile1qqsrf5h4ya83jk8u6t9jgc76h6kalz3plp9vusjpm2ygqgalqhxgp9gpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqzyrhwden5te0dehhxarj9ekxzmnyqyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskueq555fk2 with an embedded node on their phone and start zappin.

It’s not all or nothing. Meet people where they are at. You are unable to do so with your advice.
