I'm looking to start running my own node & possibly some basic hobby mining. You have any links or info you can send my way for someone whos lookin to get started?
Yes, here are some helpful tips:
For DIY
1. It is best to have bitcoin knots running as a service not running as the standalone app. In Linux, it is called ‘bitcoind’ and it runs via the systemctl software. This way it is always on and you can connect your bitcoin wallets to it.
2. It is best to have ‘electrs’ service sit in front of the ‘bitcoind’ service. This allows more privacy.
3. Hardware wise: it is best not to run it on a raspberry pi. I would get a small computer with at least 32gb of ram and for the Bitcoin blockchain it needs to be at least 4tb of NVME space.

For NON-DIY
1. The Sovran Pro already has all this built right in and not need to install anything.
2. There are other implementations of the Sovran Pro – Start9 and Umbrell and Mynodel. I think the Sovran Pro is the easiest for folks that are not technical.
Ive got little to no prior experience with linux OS (am a windows normie) however I am eager to just peel the band-aid off and transition over to linux. Anything you can recommend to get me started here?
Also would this lack of experience with Linux be a problem for me if I were to order a sovran pro?
