anyway i was researching different window types.

actually turns modern windows are pretty high-tech.

most likely your home has the shittiest cheap ass dog shit windows ( so does mine ).

it's also not worth the money to upgrade them.

but if you're buying a new construction home you may as well look for one with quality windows.

best windows are Low-E, Triple-Glazed and Krypton Filled.

good luck affording that though.

Low-E is always worth it ( low cost - high benfit )

Triple Plane is potentially worth it ( not just more thermally insulating but also more sound insulating and more physically resistant to debris, burglars etc. )

Argon / Krypton filled windows almost certainly not worth the high price. ( but make for an interesting riddle / paradox )

Get old windows if you’re ever able to, 150+ years, the wood used is far denser than what grows now, and also the work is done right.

When restored the right way those easily last another century!
