Because it's an insignificant detail for the whitepaper. And you have to dig into technical details why it'll never be exactly 21 million but a few 100k sats under. Too much fluff I would think.

There are many summations on the white paper though. The supply schedule is just one more of those. I wonder why it's not there too.
