But this was a man who answered the FBI's knock on his door pointing a gun at agents, refusing to drop it, with a long history of lurid violent death fantasies targeting key public figures online. This was a man who posted a photo of an assault rifle with the caption, "My democrat eradicator." Robertson owned a virtual arsenal of assault rifles and guns.

Craig Robertson posted online that the "time is right for a presidential assassination or two. First Joe then Kamala!!!"

He posted a photo of a nickel he had shot, stating "Well, I did it to Jefferson right on the temple. Bet I can do it to old Joey and save the world!" He posted, "I want to stand over Bragg and put a nice hole in his forehead with my 9mm and watch him twitch as a drop of blood oozes from the hole as his life ebbs away to hell!"

Craig Robertson taunted the FBI by speaking online of the FBI's "violent eradication." He posted a violent fantasy of shooting Merrick Garland dead center in his forehead and of shooting Gavin Newsom and Letitia James.

Yet the Mormon-owned Deseret News has published statements from Robertson's Mormon family claiming he was a good family man exercising free speech. Robertson was a Mormon and financial clerk of his ward.

Good man? Free speech?
