In the early 16th century, in the town of Arges, Romania, lived Philotheia, a young girl known for her kindness and devotion to God. Her stepmother, driven by jealousy, subjected her to harsh treatment and forced labor. One day, while carrying food to her father and workers in the field, she encountered hungry beggars and, moved by compassion, shared the food with them. Enraged by this act, her stepmother beat her mercilessly, ultimately causing her death. Her relics are now venerated at the Curtea de Arges Monastery, a source of healing and miracles for those who seek her intercession. #SaintPhilotheia Pray to her to intercede for us with God to do His Holy work
In early 16th-century Romania, Saint Philotheia was murdered by her stepmother for giving food to the poor. Her body was thrown into the Arges River, later found and enshrined. Many miracles have been attributed to her relics, now in Curtea de Arges Monastery, where she is venerated as a protector of orphans and the vulnerable. O Holy Philotheia, pray to God for us and protect all the children in the world. #Saints #OrthodoxChristian #Prayer #Romania #Martyr
