This is their business model. We shouldn't blame the companies for having determined what strategy and algorithms yield the most clicks, ads, etc. It is unfortunate that people don't entirely understand that they are the products. That they are supposed to be sucked in via emotional appeals. Or what such an experience can have on the mind and ones perception of reality over time. Luckily better options exist. options that I argue are far more social, and far more informative in a constructive way. Not a captive way. Thanks @devs
