It's not designed to **visually** look like Reddit, but the client I'm working on focuses on following topics, similar to Reddit in that way.

It uses '#' as topics, nice

We really need more tools & proper integration for custom feeds. Maybe by also utilising list and relays.

Yup it uses nostr lists to save the topics a user has followed!

It also uses rsslay.nostr.moe to generate a nostr profile for subreddits that coincide with the topic followed. For example, if a user follows #cordcutters , it'll generate a nostr profile from the rss feed of /r/cordcutters and add the #cordcutters hashtag to every post.

That's smart, it even has coracle excellent threads ui, perfect combination.

Yup it's a fork of the super awesome Coracle :)

Can the inclusion of a specific hashtag on a note broadcast it to a relay and anyone who has that relay can interact with it solely on that relay? So it’d still show in non supporting clients but if you wanted “dog relay”, you could open a client and narrow down to just the dog relay which would only include posts initiated by the tag or native to the relay?

Completely spitballing as I’m not great with how relay/kinds/hashtags work in a Nostr context. Just an idea.

On most clients, you can narrow down to a single relay for a global feed. social.social does it perfectly. Additionally, I believe nostr.band is offering a service where you can create topic-based relays of your own.

User can just add that topic based relay and that feed will show in his global.
