The irony of being told that mining coal is bad for the planet but mining copper, lithium and cobalt (which destroys natural environments and often uses child labor) for electric vehicles, wind turbines and solar panels is somehow saving the planet.

It isn't the production they complain about (just nimby it away); it's the consumption. There's a dearth of illogic they serve us about why burning coal is bad though.
