I also read a book (well, 95% of a book, I need to finish it today) and realized (once again) that over time, as things get more popular, they turn to shit, or they fail, or people destroy them... and once again I was made sad, but also remembered that we need to protect the good things for as long as we can, and sometimes that means keeping them small.
